Wind power
In terms of heavy-duty bolted connections, wind power construction and maintenance are currently using torque systems. Compared to hydraulic torque wrenches, electric wrenches have precise torque, easy operation, lightweight body, fast speed, and low noise. We understand the unique challenges faced by the wind power industry, so we design tools to make the work of technicians easier.
Wind energy workers need to complete their work at a distance of 100 meters from the ground. Compared to hydraulic wrenches, electric wrenches are very lightweight and do not require heavy-duty pumps. This means they are easier to transport and use on work platforms without sacrificing torque strength. The large-diameter flange connecting the fan may require up to 120 bolts and 14850Nm of torque. Our electric wrench is a continuous rotating tool that can complete such tasks in much shorter time than hydraulic wrenches.
In some wind turbine towers, technicians must connect the flanges from the inside. Some wind turbine towers have unique curvature and do not allow the use of straight tools. SMG's right angle tightening tool enables operators to tighten all bolts within the diameter and curvature range of the wind turbine tower, which means that even in more challenging wind turbine designs, SMG tools can be used to complete connection work.
When it comes to bolted components used for building and maintaining wind turbines, SMG tools can be used to install and maintain tower bolts, blade bolts, locking disks, gearboxes, generators, hub bolts, or yaw bolts.
